At a young age Bruce was drawn to music. He was influenced by his older brother’s love for The Beatles, The Stones and classic rock. He fell in love with pop music and as a child he collected 7” vinyl  records (45‘s) and then started buying albums. Then while in Junior High School he purchased an album that would change his life. It was one of the first ever DJ mixed albums and a two record set entitled “A Night At Sudio 54”. The album was seamlessly mixed from track to track and Bruce was mystified as how that had occured. This was his introduction to DJs.

He then started collecting 12” dance records and was enthralled with production and liner notes. By the age of 14 he was editing tracks and making mixtapes for friends. At the age of 16 he began working in a local record store. Within months he became the store buyer for 7” records, 12” Dance records and import music. The small store regularly had the largest sales of 12” dance records in it’s district mystifying the regional manager.

Fast forward a few years and Bruce was djing in local bars. He soon moved on to

larger nightclubs and dance bars. He was sought after by local nightclub owners as they could see the response that patrons had when he spun.

In 2002 Bruce was offered a few mixshow spots on world famous 93.1 WDRQ radio in Detroit that he had listened to as a child. A few late night mixshow spots and one prominent prime time day mixshow for local On Air Personality/Celebrity Lisa Lisa led program director Alex Tear to offer Bruce a coveted daytime mixshow. The WDRQ TRL (Total Request Lunch) mixshow Fridays at Noon was highly rated and on air for several years until ABC/Disney in a cost cutting move flipped formats to a new “iPod format”.

During his time at WDRQ, Bruce received a call from Billboard magazine asking him to join the esteemed Billboard Club Play Panel. The panel consists of approximately 150 high profile DJs, remixers and producers who contribute weekly charts to comprise Billboard’s Club Play Chart.  This honor put Bruce in touch with record labels, artists and promoters and led to him promoting artists, movies and more in clubs. Bruce has promoted hundreds of parties and events and enjoys this immensely.

Bruce has been playing for crowds of over 4000 or as small as a 100 for over 20 years, but it is his knack for finding the right track and more importantly the right mix which makes him a unique talent to laying the foundation for the dance floor journey, and what a journey it is!
